Celebrate Veterans Day with Flowers

Show Your Support for All Who Have Served

Service in the U.S. Military is an incredible act of sacrifice, patriotism, and loyalty. Today, join Allen’s Flower Market in recognizing Veterans Day, a moment to reflect upon what service means to you, and how the service of others has given you the freedoms and the standard of living we enjoy in America.

Veterans Day originated as Armistice Day and was designated as such on November 11, 1919, after the United States and its Allies reached a peaceful end to World War I. Shortly after this date, Armistice Day was officially recognized as a day to observe those who had served in that war – and at the close of World War II, politicians decided to include all veterans who have served in the observance. In 1954, Congress made an amendment to acknowledge the date as Veterans Day rather than Armistice Day.

Because of the origins of the date and the sweeping involvements of the Treaty of Versailles in 1919, other countries also recognize November 11 as a moment of commemoration. Canada, the UK and Australia, for instance, all refer to the date as “Remembrance Day.”

Is there a veteran, civil servant or another federal worker in your life who you want to recognize this Veterans Day? At Allen’s Flower Market, we honor patriotic holidays and the ceaseless service offered by men and women all over the country, and throughout history. Share our salute with an iconic bouquet such as Tie a Yellow Ribbon, blending red, white and blue blooms in a faithful harmony of textures. Or keep it simple with a monochrome alternative like Mr. Blue, whose dozen long stem blue-dyed roses send a clear message of honor and appreciation.

At Allen’s Flower Market, we offer a variety of exciting options, both classic and high-design, to bring a spirit of celebration, memory and that extra special something to the significant holidays in your life and in our culture.  As a family-owned and operated business for over 40 years, the team at Allen’s Flower Market cherishes the support that you can offer other family members with a delightful gift. We are proud to offer you the finest, freshest floral designs available – and will grow an entire decorative floral scheme around the bridal bouquet the speaks to you.
