A Creative Spin On Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is easy to love. After all, getting all of your loved ones together to eat, eat, and eat some more is hardly cause for complaint. The kids will stay busy, and if you’re lucky, adult guests will love a chance to use their creative minds before launching into the biggest meal of the year. 
• Get some fresh air in your backyard. Have you considered a friendly game of cornhole, bocce ball, or sack-racing from the comfort of your own backyard? You and your family will feel like you’ve earned your feast after some fun competition and outdoor exercise. 
• Take a hike. Get your heart pumping on Thanksgiving Day and enjoy time with your entire family. Chances are, local trails will be far less busy than usual since so many people camp out indoors all day on this holiday.
• Build a contest into your Thanksgiving. Maybe you’re celebrating with a potluck – ask your guests to vote on the best dish! Or, if competing for the best chef is too controversial, encourage your family to outdo one another with festive outfits or accessories.
• Play a game. After your meal, keep the family together with a round of trivia, family feud, charades, or a traditional favorite that you love. If you’re unable to get together with family this Fall, a game is a great way to get together on a Zoom call. Playing for keeps sure beats watching people eat pumpkin pie in front of their computer screens!
