Have You Selected Your Mother’s Day Bouquet?

Description:

Delight Your Mother with a Brilliant Bouquet

Mother’s Day is right around the corner – how will your family celebrate this Sunday? There’s no one way to “wow” Mom on Mother’s Day. Whether you are lucky enough to be able to see your mother regularly or you’re expressing love and affection from afar, a floral bouquet is guaranteed to brighten her Mother’s Day. A floral gift enables you to take a classic choice and give it your personal, creative touch. Just as the history and meaning of Mother’s Day are classic emblems that evolve to take on the times we live in, so too your floral embellishments can bring a sense of freshness to your home, your family, and your zest for celebration.

How Mother’s Day Came To Be

There are traditions honoring mothers that date back to ancient times. After all, history shows us that sculptures and other depictions of fertile mother figures are some of the earliest traces of human life in existence. With our lives and culture comes the impulse and desire to celebrate the mothers who brought us here.

In modern times, the Mother’s Day tradition stems from Mothering Sunday, an annual celebration in the English Christian calendar. Women would pay a visit to their home church to participate in a unique service. As time went on, the religious component of the holiday faded. Meanwhile, in the United States, a handful of female community organizers elevated women’s roles as educators, keepers of households, peacemakers among towns, and more. The daughter of one of these organizers, Anna Jarvis, officially proposed to create a Mother’s Day in honor of the hard work and sacrifices mothers dealt with in service of their children and families. Jarvis was intent on honoring women in a society that so often celebrated men. By 1912, Mother’s Day was commonly observed in many states. In 1914, it was officially instated the second Sunday in May.

Flowers are a Mother’s Day Tradition

Children and spouses have been honoring mothers with flowers for generations. A gift of springy blooms has been a popular choice since the early days before Mother’s Day became an official holiday.

Mother’s Day happens just once each year – how will you make the most of the occasion? Make it a bright, memorable day with a creative selection of fresh flowers. At Allen’s Flower Market, we are fans of colorful, fragrant blooms that instill a sense of serenity, joy, and sensory delight for mothers and all who join in the celebration. Our artisan-crafted bouquets are lush, vibrant, and sure to continue to remind her of this special occasion into the next week and beyond.

Garden Beauty, for example, is an elegant, shapely floral arrangement with pink and purple roses nestled among delicate hydrangeas offering a stimulating, satisfying body of scents and petal variation. For a more traditional, unified bouquet, consider an arrangement of exclusively hand-cut pink roses to bring a feminine blush and air of purity into your Mother’s Day celebrations. Or, to keep the festive feel of Mother’s Day Sunday alive long after brunches and gift boxes, give mom a luscious potted Bromeliad that will live on and continue to remind her of you. Allen’s Flower Market also offers special gift crates featuring delicious wine, perky champagne, chocolates, aromatic candles, lotions, and more. Once you’ve decided on the perfect gift for mom, make it stand out boldly with a joyful, flower-themed mylar balloon!
