How To Make Summer Wedding Flowers Pop

Description:

What do your wedding flowers say about you?

Summer is peaking – which means that wedding season is in full swing. If you’re on the lookout for wedding flowers or an occasion bouquet, Allen’s Flower Market has you covered! If you’re getting married this summer, you’re lucky – this time of year is the best time to find in-season flowers, so you’ll have plenty of options to choose from, no matter your aesthetic taste or budget.

Wedding flowers are an opportunity to make a statement. How do you want your unique style to show up to your guests? Do you want fragrant flowers, or would you rather keep things neutral so that guests focus on the aromas of food? Regarding the shape, scale, and design of your wedding flowers – do you want guests to feel surrounded by lush blooms and greenery, or do you prefer to insert delicate floral touches here and there?

At Allen’s Flower Market, we have an extensive collection of wedding flowers. From bridal bouquets to bridesmaid bouquets, a floral mise-en-place for your ceremony, table settings, flowers for a bride’s hair, corsages, boutonnieres – you name it, we have it. With such a wealth of options, finding your perfect wedding flowers might be a matter of taste, or it might be a matter of finding the flowers with the appropriate symbolism for your special day. Here’s how some of our favorite flowers come to life in wedding arrangements – as well as the special meanings they communicate.

Roses

The romantic go-to is a beloved choice for weddings - some of our favorite bouquets include Roses of all colors for their timeless, long-standing symbolism of affection and love. As in our elegant Cascading White Roses bouquet, white roses symbolize purity, youthfulness, innocence, and hope. Girlish pink roses express a feeling of joy, loyalty, and admiration. Our Esperanza bouquet features bedazzled pink roses, complete with pearlescent touches and gemstones. Yellow roses symbolize good fortune and channel happiness and goodwill – making them a lovely choice for a bridal bouquet and in decorative touches alike.

Local Foliage

Balance out a bloom-forward wedding with succulents, a joyful addition to a wedding bouquet. Our Roses & Succulents bouquet sets a background of lush succulent greens behind red Roses. Succulents are native to Southern California, making them an excellent option for outdoor weddings in the summer heat. Plus, succulents express a down-to-earth, quirky personality and have a lovely waxy exterior that allows them to be combined with many other floral varieties.

Orchids

Orchids are a flower with rich folklore and symbolism. In a wedding, orchids express love, beauty, fertility, and luxurious abundance. They make an especially striking table setting, with their broad, wide floral head and vibrant color.  A show-stopping arrangement like our Purple Phalaenopsisity sets expressive purple orchids in tall, elegant glass vases with curling Ti leaves and moss. Phalaenopsis orchids are an especially good summer choice as they are native to warm-weather environments. In our Enchanted Forest arrangement for receptions and wedding parties, a variety of towering orchids mingle with broad lilies. At the base, plump, white hydrangeas snake along the table to balance the taller blooms.

Calla Lilies

Calla lilies are a perfect floral choice for weddings with a modern touch with their signature asymmetrical petal shape. Callas are lightly fragrant and ultra-sturdy. A tropical flower, Calla lilies are also capable of thriving in hot temperatures. Our Callas & Cyms bouquet is a dramatic pairing of white and black Calla lilies with black orchids.

Lavender

In addition to looking lovely, lavender’s unforgettable fragrance will render wedding guests spellbound. Plus, lavender’s symbolism is very appropriate for many weddings – it denotes serenity, grace, and quiet. Our Lavender and Purple Bridal Bouquet pairs lavender with fern leaves, purple roses, and orchids. The effect is a gorgeous blend of various purple hues that intertwine in a delicate cascade.

Gardenias

Another fragrant choice, Gardenias, pack a lot of beautiful aroma into a small package. If you’re looking to greet guests’ every sense, consider a bouquet with accent Gardenias, such as our Roses & Gardenias, where an all-white blend of roses, tulips, lily of the valley, and more defer to the aroma of the subtle Gardenias in the mix.

Weddings and family unions bring warmth and delight to summertime, and they are some of our favorite events to design. The team at Allen’s Flower Market celebrates family with all of our hearts – and will be partners with you in the process of making your wedding flower selections for every dimension of your ceremony and celebration.
