That’s right – as of 1885, June 14 has served as Flag Day in honor of the design and completion of the U.S. Flag. While we’ve come a long way since the 13 stars and 13 stripes that adorned the country’s first-ever flag in 1777, the core symbols that underlie the flag have remained constant. Red is a symbol of strength and courage. White represents purity. Blue stands for perseverance and justice.
