Planning a Family Reunion This Month? Lift the Vibe with Flowers!

Description:

Our Guide to Family Fun This Summer

Ah, the joys of summer vacation. There is simply no better time to spend quality time with family and join up with loved ones you don’t get to see often enough. Here’s our guide to hosting a family reunion this summer filled with fun, tenderness, and flowers, of course!

Where to hold a family reunion

Start by choosing a town or city that is convenient for most of the family if some family members need to travel. If your reunion takes place over a holiday or weekend, agree on a ‘home base’ – ideally, somebody’s house or yard – where you can gather between activities. Think about who in the family has the right amount of space and furniture to accommodate everyone. Bonus points if they have a pool, barbecue, or an exciting home movie theater set up.

Once you’ve picked your home base, think of a few venues out of the house that might appeal to many in the family, such as a local beach, park, or entertainment center.

Activities for the entire family

Set aside plenty of time to relax, chat, and eat. If you haven’t seen members of your family for a while, everyone will appreciate a relaxed schedule that doesn’t pack in too many activities. That said, sprinkling in some activities is a great way to feel connected and break the ice.

Have some board games and cards on hand for those who enjoy getting a little competitive while bonding. The rowdy teens and kids in your family might enjoy a sack race, a game of cornhole, or shooting hoops in a basketball net. If you have creative talent in the family, supply some scrapbooking materials, a polaroid camera, and paint. If you hold your reunion someplace with pool or beach access, come ready with floaties, sunscreen, and water games!

Keep the kids involved.

The best way to help young kids enjoy a family reunion is to keep them away from video games or the television – at least, most of the time. Have kids get involved in cooking, taking pictures, playing music, and starting conversations with the grown-ups at the reunion. Kids can also help decorate, choose games to play, and join grocery trips or other errands. By taking an active role in playing host, the festivities will live on in their memory.

Flowers to transform a family reunion into a memorable occasion

Make your dinner tables and poolside relaxation zone shine with some luxurious, festive blooms. A sunflower arrangement, such as our lovingly designed Suns of Belmont Shore, is a beautiful choice for a daytime party, given its bright, cheery color notes. A playful centerpiece like Tropic Thunder signals casual elegance that is not trying too hard. Our Royal Radiance bouquet is a feminine choice that evokes celebration, fun, and respect.

Take your pick of floral wonders at Allen’s Flower Market to promote family fun and add some color to your reunion. Stop by our floral design stores in Long Beach, Los Angeles, Reseda, or Sunland, or order yourself a beautiful bouquet online.
